The last time I updated, xanga did not have any of these fancy buttons for writing, such as bold and italic options.  I feel a little behind the times.

So spring break was last week (my last spring break for a while!) and I went to CUP with Intervarsity.  CUP is Chicago Urban Program, and we spent about a week in the Austin community in Chicago.  We spent so much time in training and learning and then would be able to put it all immediately into practice through service in the community, which was really cool to be able to do.  I can't even tell you how awesomely challenging the week was, but how even awesomer it was to be there and once again be blown away with just who God is.  And just to meditate and remember that as I was so openly faced with a broken and hurting world.

I learned so much, but I think the biggest thing for me during that week was to go through Scripture and to see just how much justice and oppression and reconciliation was such a huge part of the Bible that I had been so blind to realize before.  And how Jesus came not only to die for our personal sins, but to bring restoration to this world.  (It may sound obvious, but I really was clueless to all of this before.)  I'm still processing through a lot of the stuff I learned, but I'm realizing how justice and reconciliation needs to be such a huge and central part of the way I live my life because it is such a huge part of God's own heart.  That caring about all the issues brought up during the week is not something I should just care about for one week during my spring break, but that God desires a life that gives and lives sacraficially for His purposes and not just out of abundance, when I have free time or something.  Overall, it was just an amazing time that has really reshaped the way I view this world and how to devote my life and future to God's purposes.

For my dear friend Connie...

Since we clearly excel in making lists AND completing them, here's a little list for you to do in "I share a lime"   (all pictures taken from "Connie and Amanda's Day of NY Fun!" not to be confused with "Connie and Amanda's Day of Wheaton Fun!")

-Remember the things you learned from your times with this great man who resided in Room 302. And if you forget...look down at your shirt for a reminder.

-Hungry? Korean foods always good to eat again....and again....and again (and visit Melodie in Europe too!)

-Look for a Barnes&Nobles in order to keep up with the "US" news. And if you don't have time, don't worry...i'll keep you updated.

-Travel to cool places and meet lots of cool people.

-Call/e-mail/update your xanga and flickr when you have time!

-Know that I miss you much and wish you were here so that we could hang out.

Next week: reunion with jessie, lauren, naomi and carina. talk about a traveling pants summer!  (hopefully without all the sadness, right connie?)
